March 12, 2023 Top-seeded Alabama went wire to wire against second-seeded Texas A&M, cruising to an 82- 63 win to capture the program's second SEC Tournament championship in three seasons and sweep both the regular season and tournament titles for the second time under head coach Nate Oats. Alabama set the tone from the opening possession. Mark Sears opened the game with a three-pointer, and the Crimson Tide never trailed, making four of their first six three-point attempts. Alabama built a lead as large as 16 points late in the first half and carried a 34-to-23 advantage into the break, with Texas A&M struggling badly from the floor throughout, eventually shooting a season-low 29.7 percent for the game.
