August 16, 2026 Fifth-ranked Vanderbilt closed out its opening week of the season with a lopsided 4- 0 win over ETSU on Senior Night, though the game hung in the balance for much of the night despite the eventual scoreline. Vanderbilt finally broke through when Olivia Stafford found the net with a tidy finish in the 26th minute, but the Commodores could not add to the lead until Melania Fullerton found the top left corner to double the advantage, fittingly on her own Senior Night. The floodgates opened from there. Less than two minutes after Fullerton's goal, fellow senior Sydney Watts punched home a cross from freshman Hailey Perkins, who picked up the first assist of her college career in her debut.
