A lot of people know juni as the sleepy girl she is now, but not how close she came to never getting here. When she was about one, she was diagnosed with FIP, a terminal disease with a 99% death rate. At the time, it was illegal for vets to recommend or prescribe treatment. We were told it was terminal and suddenly being asked to choose a day to say goodbye to her. I remember looking at this tiny, sick little cat and feeling completely shattered by the idea that her life might be ending before I ever got the chance to watch it really begin. I searched high and low and eventually found a network of incredibly brave vets and volunteers working quietly outside the system to get treatment to cats who otherwise had no chance. little by little, she started coming back. She started eating again. Her nose was pinker. She started looking like herself again. the cat we were told we were going to lose is now here years later, completely healthy, sleepy, happy, and thriving almost ~too~ much. Watc...
