The old Nissan Leaf S took 35 minutes to add 100 miles of range. The new Nissan Leaf can add that much range in less than 11 minutes. We tested the new Leaf's charging capabilities to see just how much Nissan's entry-level EV has improved. The 2026 Nissan Leaf comes with a 75kWh battery, delivering 259 to 303 miles of range, depending on which trim you select. The Leaf gets a NACS port for DC fast charging and a 150kW peak charge rate. For comparison, the base 2025 Leaf had a 50kW peak and a CHAdeMO port. Yikes.
