The first deportation flight to Haiti since the Trump administration ended humanitarian protections landed on August 20, as immigration advocates warn that arrests of Haitian immigrants are beginning to increase. According to washingtonpost , many of the people aboard the flight had been detained by ICE within the previous three weeks. Guerline Jozef of the Haitian Bridge Alliance said at least one passenger had recently lost Temporary Protected Status (TPS). The deportations come amid continued concerns over conditions in Haiti and what the end of humanitarian protections could mean for Haitians living in the United States.
