Harriett Alleyne Rice (1866-1958) graduated from Wellesley College in 1887, earned a medical degree from Women’s Medical School of the New York Infirmary, and served as a medical assistant for the French Government in World War I, where she received the bronze medal of Reconnaissance Française for her service.
