When I realized my son Brandon was academically advanced, I started holding him to a very high standard. I’ve always told him that having ability is one thing, but having the discipline to maximize that ability is something completely different. Then I started graduate school… and the tables turned. 😂 Brandon would ask me, “Dad, let me see your grades.” That’s when I realized something: I couldn’t hold him to a standard that I wasn’t willing to hold myself to. So earning a 4.0 GPA in graduate school with honors, makes the accomplishment mean so much more.
