A young mother died saving her son from drowning in water over the weekend n the Des Plaines River near Independence Grove in Libertyville. The Lake County Forest Preserve said the 31-year-old Angelina Khalimendik had entered the river to assist her son and, after helping him reach a family member, "she went underwater" and "became submerged." She was ultimately pulled from the water by a family member and others nearby as first responders were called to the scene. #libertyville #chicagonews #chicagosuburbs
