If I could start learning piano completely from scratch, these are the 3 things I’d tell myself. Play what you love. Don’t get overwhelmed by endless piano theory and tutorials. Learn songs you actually enjoy, and you’ll naturally build skills along the way. Look for patterns. Chord progressions, melodies, and sheet music often repeat. Recognizing these patterns can make songs much easier to learn and memorize. Learn dynamics. Don’t play every part of a song at the same volume. Learn to build up, pull back, and create peaks and valleys so your playing actually feels musical. The goal isn’t to avoid theory or challenging music.
