When God seems silent or distant, we don't assume God has left us. Instead, we find him in his Word and hold him to it. It's what the Canaanite woman did in Matthew 15. Jesus called her a dog - and she held him to it! We hear Jesus call us his own child - hold him to it! And see that he does treat you as his own loved child.
