Sango describes the genre of music he makes simply as “Rhythm & Melody,” and his new album might be the clearest explanation of what he means yet 👇
Across 20 tracks, the producer pulls from Michigan rap, Chicago footwork, New Orleans bounce, Afrobeats and Brazilian funk, bringing sounds from Detroit, Chicago, Rio and beyond into the same world without stripping away what makes each one distinct. The guest list follows that same idea, with Big Sean, Babyface Ray, Vic Mensa, Smino, GoldLink, Boldy James and more appearing throughout the project 🤝
Sango has described ‘RHYTHM & MELODY’ as his “love letter” to modern Black music, built around the sampling, drums, chords and regional sounds that have shaped his ear over the years. The result feels less like jumping between genres and more like showing how connected they’ve always been 🌎🔊
