Meta AI is officially moving onto the Mac. Meta has launched a dedicated desktop app that can understand content from a window you choose to share, answer questions about what you are working on, make suggestions and provide system wide dictation across Mac apps. And Meta is pushing much further than screen awareness. The assistant can connect with Google Workspace, Instagram, Facebook and Meta Ads. It can analyze post performance, generate documents, presentations and spreadsheets, and perform recurring tasks such as weekly performance updates. This is the larger shift worth watching. AI is rapidly moving beyond the chatbot window. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Siri AI and now Meta AI are all moving toward the same destination: an intelligent layer sitting between you and your computer, understanding context and increasingly helping execute the work itself.
