Prosecutors revealed a trove of disturbing texts from #KarmeloAnthony’s phone that the jury never saw during his m-rder trial. At a hearing this week over his request for a new trial, they shared messages showing he allegedly sent his ex a photo of a knife the morning of the st-bbing with the words “I’m low key on the verge.” She had reported to school officials that same day that he was stalking her after their breakup. Other texts included fantasies about st-bbing someone and “licking the blood off the blade,” a 2023 message saying “imma sh—t the school up tmr,” repeated talk of fights, g-ns, and knives, threats toward the girlfriend, and admissions of violence. None of it came into evidence at the original trial because of a “gentleman’s agreement” between both sides to keep character issues about Anthony and the victim out of the case.
