Hi, I’m Emma! I’m a junior doctor (intern) at Toowoomba Hospital. 👩⚕️🏥
As an intern, I rotate through different specialties, so every few months my role changes. So far, I’ve worked in emergency medicine, anaesthetics and rural medicine in Dalby, and I’m currently working in obstetrics and gynaecology. 🤰🏾👶🏾
Every rotation brings new challenges, new skills and a different perspective on patient care, which is one of the things I love most about being a junior doctor.
I studied medicine at the University of Queensland and completed my final two years at the Toowoomba Rural Clinical School.
Growing up in an agricultural family, and through my own family’s experiences accessing healthcare, I saw how important timely, accessible medical care is for people living outside major cities. Those experiences inspired my passion for rural medicine and continue to motivate me every day. 🚜
