I debated with myself on whether to post this image first. The silhouette of the crowd doing the wave, the day game light, and the tilt shift are all aspects I like. But it’s just a guy walking up to the plate. Nothing interesting happening on the field. If I had more time I’d wait around for a big hit or play at the plate, at least the pitcher throwing, but when you’re working for a wire service you don’t have that kind of time. It also feels like it won’t make people stop scrolling on Instagram. But we’re not in it for the stats anymore. Out here to make cool images, have fun, and share the thought process. I do like the image though so here we are. I really need to get out to more day games. So many more opportunities for pictures.
