A damaged hose caused propane to leak, prompting officials to evacuate homes within an 800-metre radius as HazMat crews responded. Officials said propane levels in the area had reached a point where the gas could have been flammable, while crews worked to secure and upright the tanker. The situation was resolved overnight, with all evacuation orders lifted by 3:30 a.m. Wednesday and Parkway Road reopening at 4:15 a.m. Thankfully, the driver was not injured. Ottawa police say the driver has been charged with careless driving, and the investigation remains ongoing.
