Pitchers do more arm care than anyone on the field. Yet a 2021 study of 242 professional baseball players found that position players had 14–20% greater shoulder internal and external rotation strength than pitchers. That doesn’t mean arm care doesn’t work. It means we should think about how we’re training the arm. The rotator cuff and scapular stabilizers are muscles. Like any other muscle, they need enough stimulus to adapt. Progress the resistance. Use isometrics and eccentrics. Train through different positions. Measure strength over time. Arm care shouldn’t just be a routine you complete. It should be training that creates adaptation. #strengthandconditioning #pitchertrqining. #pitcherarmcare
