Hip rotation is one of the first ranges to quietly disappear past 40. Sitting all day teaches your hips one position, and the deep rotators that let you turn, squat and get up off the floor start to switch off from disuse. The result isn’t just stiffness. It’s that low, twisting movement, the one you need to get up off the ground, that starts to feel like a mission. Five drills here train that exact range back: hip CARs for the full circle, a 90/90 switch for rotation, elevated pigeon for the opening, a deep squat hold for control, and single leg hip extension for the strength to stand back up. The stiffness you blame on age is your hips switching off from sitting.
