We’ve talked about this happening to testers in stores before 👀 When a product has been exposed to light for a long period of time, like this @Rare Beauty lippie the pigments can actually start to fade. And in this case it’s definitely because of the sun. This means the tester you’re seeing may not be true to the product’s actual shade! We made a video about this with blushes containing pink pigments in exposed environments with fluorescent lighting, but this is a similar issue that shows how it can happen across different categories with the sun too, especially if a gondola is near an exposed window. So don’t worry if you notice some fading in a store tester. In product development, this is something we actually think about when development products, but there’s only so much you can do when the sun is right next to the products. And sometimes brands even put UV resistant packaging on products. 👀 #makeup #beautyindustry #rarebeauty #makeupproducts #thelipsticklesbians
