How To Do Assisted Top Hold | Correct Technique
Key technique points:
• Attach a resistance band above you and use a chair so you can step straight into the top position with your chin over the bar, no jumping or pulling up
• Step into the band first, then grab the bar slightly wider than shoulder width apart
• Set the scapula retraction before you step up, squeezing the shoulder blades together and pointing the elbows backwards as much as you can
• Keep the shoulders down, the chin above the bar, the core tight, and hold
Assisted Top Hold trains the lats, upper back, and biceps in the top position of the pull-up, with the core working to keep the body tight.
