Despite her previous legislative efforts to nix Oregon’s vote-by-mail system and implement more stringent rules around voting, Christine Drazan will rely on volunteer ballot couriers to help her supporters get their ballots in on time this November. The practice, sometimes referred to as ballot harvesting, is allowed with certain caveats. The Republican senator and candidate for governor says the practice doesn't conflict with her previous legislative work to switch Oregon to in-person voting and require ID to cast a ballot. “Ballot harvesting, believe it or not, is not against the law, we just gotta get better at doing it,” a campaign staffer can be heard saying in audio recorded during a meeting for campaign workers and volunteers in July. The Drazan campaign worker was responding to questions about how workers and volunteers can effectively reach voters outside the established GOP voter base. ✍️ Courtney Vaughn 🔗 Full story at the link in bio. #portland #elections #pdx...
