For 80 years, the #UnitedNations has been a beacon of hope in times of turmoil, working in some of the world’s most difficult conditions to help vulnerable people and save lives. At a time when conflicts, crises and other serious challenges are putting people at risk, the United Nations continues to work every day to provide assistance and support to those in need by: • protecting people forced to flee conflict, famine and persecution; • providing food and assistance to more than 110 million people; • supplying vaccines to 45% of the world’s children, helping save millions of lives every year; • protecting and promoting human rights; • addressing the climate crisis; • working for peace; and so much more.
