It also feels very fitting to be winding down my own pumping journey during National Breastfeeding Month. Every family’s feeding journey looks different, and I have so many different emotions. For me, exclusive pumping turned into combo feeding pretty fast after my supply tanked during my postpartum hemorrhage and hospitalization. I was so incredibly frustrated by it, but we got through thanks to formula supplementation and a rigorous pumping schedule, and I managed to make it 4 months on this breastfeeding journey (longer than I had planned or hoped!) and every single week was hard-fought. I’m both proud and grateful.
