No. 14 Texas A&M donned their ‘blackout’ jerseys on Saturday night in College Station. Led by a strong defensive performance and a momentum surge after the Aggies pulled starting quarterback Connor Weigman in favor of freshman Marcel Reed, the Aggies beat No. 8 LSU 38-23.
Reed only passed the ball twice, but completed both attempts including a 54-yard strike that set up a key touchdown to help the Aggies pull away late. His nine rushes for 62 yards and three touchdowns provided the spark Texas A&M needed in the second half. The Aggies recorded 6 sacks on defense, broke up 5 pass attempts and intercepted Garrett Nussmeier three times.
