A pair of undefeated teams squared off in a surprisingly good and very competitive Thursday night matchup, with Arizona State edging out Texas State 31-28. For anyone who has seen Texas State over the last decade or so, the current team is miles beyond anything I could have imagined seeing when I first started coming to games here. The change in the program under 2nd year head coach GJ Kinne is remarkable, and the university has made numerous commitments to support its new coach and the players. The gameday atmosphere, the crowd… it’s night and day from even two season ago. It’s a fun place to see a game these days, and a close loss to the Sun Devils tonight won’t hamper what’s being built here.
