A 64th minute goal by Sophia Smith lifted the United States Women’s National Team to a 1-0 victory over Mexico Saturday at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ. There will probably be a lot written by actual writers about the team’s performance under new coach Emma Hayes, and I’ll leave it to the experts to discuss the play on the pitch. For my part, this was my second full game with the new Sony gear, and I feel like I’m starting to build the muscle memory to match the instincts to make adjustments on the fly and take advantage of the amazing technology in the a9iii bodies. With clouds rolling in and out, we had near-constant changes in light, going from direct sun to harsh shade lines to overcast throughout the game.
