These photos are of an early Christian monastic settlement in the Wicklow mountains, near Glendalough in County Wicklow, the Republic of Ireland, which was founded by St. Kevin in the 6th century. The site was later developed into a “Monastic City," with a cathedral built beginning in the 10th century. Most of the buildings that survive today date from the 10th through 12th centuries.
