Mexico’s Caribbean coast is facing another major influx of Sargassum, with large quantities of the seaweed washing onto beaches. The buildup threatens marine life and the tourism industry, a key part of the region’s economy. Authorities have deployed the navy to help manage the problem and keep beaches clear.
