Those hours after a track meet that aren’t seen… on 10x speed
Delivering the content, editing, sorting, uploading, consuming snacks, and decompressing after a full day on the track and field.
My process… as a photographer starts on the track!
I rate my images in camera throughout the day so when I get into Lightroom I’m looking at images I know I’ll edit first. Sometimes it takes a few hours to pump out 150-200 images (outside the 20-30 needed immediately) after shooting for 10-12hrs across all events (small edit breaks through the day),
- Choose the few images per athlete (they are on the brief) that show what’s happening at their event, action & reaction. Also want to make sure I’m not stitching athletes up (no down strikes, facials etc).
- Get the editing and grading right for the ever changing shade conditions
- Few extra to (sounds cliche) tell the story of what happened that day.
Pack it all up, and turn up again the next day 😴
