⤵ The New Thing Behind the glass, a printed spring; beyond, the human one – quickening. Water and sky, holding theirs, made of light, a little longer. The bride, the maid of honour – one breath. The flowers, only paper. Then life, its petals open again – a new family around the table, a New Thing – Their Light. I photographed the scene as it was reflected in the glass of a framed floral print hanging on the wall. This is why the poem’s text first leads into the artwork, passing through the glass, and then emerges from it to continue its narrative.
