The cabins at ArcticTreeHouseHotel are intentionally designed for one particular spectacle: the Aurora Borealis. Guests can watch the northern lights — which appear around 150 nights per year — directly from their beds through the panoramic windows. Greens are most common, though flashes of purple, pink, yellow and even red occasionally sweep across the sky. According to Sámi folklore, the lights are created by a magical fox running across the fells, its tail sweeping snow into the sky and igniting sparks of color.
