My oldest was having a hard time when his favorite toy ran out of batteries. It’s easier & faster for my husband to do it for our son, to stop him from crying. But instead, my husband chooses to do the hard but loving route as a father. He chooses to be patient, understand our son & teach him with grace & love. Even when my sons don’t seem interested, my husband still brings his sons along with him to work on a car. To teach them how to change a light bulb. Teaches them how to take out the trash & pick up the mail. Those “small” but important little impacts on young boys. It’s not always easy, but those moments of breakdowns from our sons have become slowly breakthroughs overtime. If I don’t say it enough on here, this one’s for my husband. I love you & I know our sons love you immensely. Fathers, you are important. Especially raising children on the Autism spectrum. Don’t give up. I see you.
