bad boys 2 is one of those movies that will forever be attached to a very specific part of my childhood. my cousins and i were OBSESSED with this movie. like genuinely obsessed. we watched it basically every weekend and somehow never got sick of it. i don’t even know how many times i’ve seen it but i could probably know every single line. looking back, it’s actually so funny that THIS was one of our comfort movies because bad boys 2 is completely fucking unhinged. michael bay was clearly operating under the belief that if one explosion was good, then seventeen explosions were better, and honestly… he was right. the cars, the shootouts, the ridiculous action sequences, will smith and martin lawrence, it’s just pure early 2000s excess and i love it. i think that’s why these movies hit differently when you grow up with them. i’m not watching bad boys 2 now and thinking about whether the plot is perfect or whether it’s technically the greatest action movie ever made. i’m thinking ab...
