Troy Gooch ’18: Gold medalist for the U.S. National Team at the Pan-American Cup.
Gooch was the libero as USA Volleyball won its first men’s Pan-American Cup gold since 2014.
In the championship match, Gooch led all players with 12 receptions and had eight digs to lead the U.S., which defeated Puerto Rico for the title, 3-1 (22-25, 25-16, 25-23, 25-19). Gooch started off the USA’s match point with a dig that became a gold-medal-winning kill.
Gooch, who plays professionally in Europe, was named to USA Volleyball’s roster for the Volleyball Nations League before being named to the Pan-Am team. He previously competed for USA Volleyball on the 2023 and 2025 Pan Am Cup teams.
The Lancaster native, who won a national championship with UCLA in 2023, is a member of the SWD Powervolleys team in Düren, Germany, where he was the team’s top libero this past season. He previously played with Finland’s Hurrikaani-Loimaa, winning a championship in 2024.
