Are you aware of how much you spend on little toys and activities for your kids? It’s probably a hard number to quantify because it’s “grabbing a few things from the Target dollar spot” here and “adding a few extras to my Amazon cart” there.
But those expenses can add up quick! I get it - there are so many fun things out there to entertain kids. But they were born with built-in imaginations, so the more we allow them to use those, the better able to entertain themselves they’ll be.
So, not only will cutting back on buying your kids toys save you money, it will also encourage creativity.
I shared this homemade play dough recipe in my goodthingsutah segment, but wanted to share it again here with the recipe attached (swipe left). This whole batch cost me $1.39. And guess how much I’d pay for the (very cheapest on Amazon) equivalent amount? Over $5!
Have you ever made play dough? If you haven’t, this is the easiest recipe out there and doesn’t require any cooking on the stove.
