Tonight’s Katrina: The Next 20 Years panel presented by the Gulf States Newsroom was phenomenal. Twenty-one years after Hurricane Katrina, the conversation cannot only be about what happened. It also has to be about what we learned, what we changed, what we failed to change, and what we are doing to prepare for the next 20 years. The discussion brought together voices from journalism, coastal restoration, environmental advocacy, community organizing, government and history to talk about resilience, infrastructure, coastal loss and the future of New Orleans and South Louisiana.
