HIV has reached its lowest levels in Allegheny County since record-keeping began. Just 53 people were newly diagnosed with the virus last year, a 32% decrease over 2024’s numbers and a 54% decrease since 2016.
The Allegheny County health department said the milestone was the result of years of collaborative efforts.
