Phenix City pitcher Kinley Rasmus tied Mo’ne Davis’ record with eight strikeouts thrown by a girl in the Little League World Series. Rasmus' family is all ball. Her father Cory, was an MLB pitcher and a current assistant coach for Phenix City. Her uncle Colby Rasmus, was an outfielder. Kinley’s cousin, Ryker also plays for team. Kinley's mom Jill,  is a Southern Miss softball alum and her brother, Jeff Mathis played for six organizations over his 17-year career as a catcher. Phenix City will play on Aug 22nd against the loser of the West Region-Midwest Region game.
