Monday night, Greenville City Council is expected to move forward with what could be one of the city’s largest annexation projects.
The city wants to bring more than 130 acres along Woodruff Road into Greenville’s city limits, including property along I-385 and businesses such as Sam’s Club, Chick-fil-A, and the Merovan Business Center.
Brakes and backed-up traffic are familiar sights along Woodruff Road.
Greenville city leaders say annexing the surrounding properties could give the city more opportunities to address traffic management, while Woodruff Road itself would remain owned and operated by the South Carolina Department of Transportation.
