The owner of a 10-foot python found roaming near Myrtle Beach last week has come forward, but the massive snake will not be going back home.
Russell Cavender, owner of local wildlife and reptile removal service The Snake Chaser, said in a Facebook post Saturday that the snake's owner came forward and decided not to keep the animal.
According to Cavender, the owner has asked The Snake Chaser to find an appropriate home for the python.
The albino reticulated python was captured after a driver spotted it along the side of the road in Market Common on Aug. 17.
