#ThrowbackThursday Even back in the early 1900s, people knew driving through floodwaters was a bad idea.
As we head into the peak of hurricane and rainy season, consider this your friendly reminder to turn around; don’t drown. 🌀
Floodwater doesn’t care if your vehicle is brand new, oversized, lifted, electric, or “probably fine.” It only takes a surprisingly small amount of water to float a vehicle, and once your tires lose contact with the road, you’re no longer driving; you’re boating. And unless your car came with an anchor, that’s not a good plan. 🚗
Now’s the time to review your evacuation plans. Taking a few extra minutes to find another route may be inconvenient, but it’s a lot cheaper than replacing a vehicle. The floodwater will still be there for the photo. You don’t need to be in it.
