The Department of the Army announced Wednesday that Fort Hood was among five installations selected to host a nuclear microreactor, with the contract awarded to General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems. This microreactor is a prototype under the Project Janus Program, which is an initiative designed to accelerate the deployment of advanced, clean energy technologies to support national defense.
