Federal prosecutors say Daejon Labrayae Love spent more than three years pretending to be a #49ers wide receiver so he could take money from women he met on dating apps. He built the whole life out. Fake NFL career, an Instagram feed full of him in team gear and next to McLarens and Lamborghinis, and fake bank and investment balances he pulled up on his phone to prove he was rich. Once he had them, an 18 year old named Taylor Jamie Chan allegedly stepped in playing his financial adviser and vouching for investments that never existed. The two ran FaceTime calls showing fake returns to push women into sending more. Investigators say Love cut off anyone who ran out of money or started asking questions. Court records say the scheme started in February 2022 and hit women in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and California, with about $1.3 million taken from 26 identified victims.
