Loudoun County Supervisor Juli Briskman says she will run for chair of the county board next year, setting up a 2027 primary with the current board chair and fellow Democrat, Phyllis Randall.
Briskman said she's challenging her colleague because she believes the county needs a new direction on several issues. At the top of the list: data centers.
Loudoun County is home to more than 250 active data centers generating over a billion dollars a year in local tax revenue.
News4's Drew Wilder breaks down what Briskman and Randall have each said so far.
