Lanii Tu’guul is the grandest Zapotec Celebration of the dead for the indigenous communities east of Oaxaca City. The common translation: “Day of the Dead” does not capture the depth and joy of Lanii Tu’guul, which is why we warmly invite you to learn and experience it firsthand. My family and I are eternally grateful to tastesalud for visiting responsibly, in reciprocity encapsulating the true meaning of our indigenous cosmovision, led by my abuelita last year.
