Lava fields in Iceland 🌋🇮🇸 Iceland is home to hundreds of lava fields, formed by eruptions.This might just look like a field of rocks.... but thousands of years ago, this entire landscape was covered in HOT, flowing lava. When a volcano erupts, molten lava can flow across huge areas of land. As it cools, it hardens into solid rock ,slowly creating these massive, rugged lava fields. Over thousands of years, nature slowly takes over.
