We’ve had the privilege of seeing the MoonPay X Games League from a unique perspective over the last few months, and Bob Burnquist has always been a friendly face across the world, whether it be California, Japan, or Louisiana. As the GM of xgames_saopaulo, bobburnquist built a team and culture that always stood out not just for their athleticism, bravery, grit, and talent, but their class, respect, and admiration for their competitors and peers. The league based xgames format has changed many things about action sports, but perhaps most interesting is that despite the fact that these athletes are competing head to head for personal and team pride, and financial prizes, everyone can’t help but feel like a big family genuinely rooting for each other’s success, whether on the same team or not.
