Researchers at MIT’s Media Lab studied 54 participants as they completed writing tasks using ChatGPT, search engines, or no digital assistance, while their brain activity was monitored using EEG. The participants who used ChatGPT showed lower levels of neural engagement during the writing process and were less able to remember portions of what they had written afterward. The researchers associated this with cognitive offloading, where some of the effort involved in planning, developing ideas, and organizing thoughts is shifted to an external tool. The study does not conclude that ChatGPT harms the brain. However, it raises an interesting point: using AI too early in the thinking process could potentially reduce how deeply people engage with the task themselves. 👉👉Follow aiupdates.hub for daily insights that keep you ahead in AI, Tech and Robotics Source: MIT Media Lab #ChatGPT #ArtificialIntelligence #MITResearch #BrainScience #FutureOfAI
