Ecca Vandal, Outbreak Fest x All Points East 2026
REVIEW: Picking a lane has never been on Ecca Vandal’s to-do list, and that’s likely why an Outbreak Fest audience feels so ready to welcome her with open arms.
Cultivating a wondrously mismatched sound over the last decade, the South African-born musician thrives on pure chaos, and there’s plenty of it being whipped up during her half-hour takeover of the X Stage.
From the dizzyingly sweet choruses of ‘VERTICAL WORLDS’ to the hip-hop surge of ‘THEN THERE’S ONE’ and the fast-paced punk fireball of ‘DANCE IN DEBT’, the crowd packed into this corner of Vicky Park seem utterly mesmerised by every breakneck turn she takes them on, lost in a world of the blue-haired dynamo’s own wicked creation.
A joyous celebration of the breadth of alternative music, delivered in its most transcendent, authentic form. After witnessing a performance like this, it’s hard not to believe the future is Ecca Vandal’s for the taking.
