Jorge Masvidal finally sits down with one of the fighters who inspired him to pursue MMA: Mark “The Smashing Machine” Kerr.
Kerr takes Jorge back to the wild early days of mixed martial arts, from transitioning out of elite wrestling and fighting multiple times in one night to competing in the UFC, PRIDE and ADCC. He tells the story behind the massive fight with Royce Gracie that never happened, his relationship with Dan Lambert, and what MMA was really like before the sport became what it is today.
Mark also opens up about working closely with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on The Smashing Machine, helping him prepare the wrestling and fight choreography for the film, and why he came away with even more respect for The Rock.
The two legends also break down GSP’s greatness, Oleksandr Usyk, the evolution of wrestling in MMA, today’s heavyweight division, and which current UFC champion Kerr believes he would match up best against — Alex Pereira.
